Chick and Duck Mfg is established to provide the woodworking public with the best quality and durability possible. We will not ship a product before it has been fully tested and we are satisfied with its performance.
Chick and Duck Mfg. has developed a product which meets the needs for which it was invented. It will hold your bowl or platter securely while you finish the bottom of your project to your satisfaction. Other chucks that claim to hold your work are harder to set up and less capable of securing your project. Somebody once stated that the Button Jaw methods of holding a project requires 60 steps to set-up. After having used that method I am not sure about the 60 steps to set-up but after setting the buttons and then resetting them and still finding that they wouldn't fit my project I was pretty frustrated. The Rim Chuck requires 4 steps for set up. We like that better.

SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT
We here at Chick and Duck Manufacturing are sad to announce that our founder, operator, and inventor of the Rim Chuck, Richard Benham, past away on Saturday, May 31 after a long battle with coronary artery disease. He was the spiritual core of the company, and remained so even after his health kept him away from the day to day operations. He is sorely missed by friends and family alike, but his spirit lives on in the joy he is able to bring to fellow turners through the tool he invented.
