"I have had a chance to finish a couple of bowls on my new RC414 now. I wanted to send you a short note to let you know what I think about it.
I like it! I had previously been using Oneway Stronghold & Talon chucks with Oneway's "Jumbo Jaws" and can offer the following comparisions:
As expected, the RC414 is **MUCH** faster and easier to setup & adjust.
Something I didn't expect -- the RC414 runs a lot smoother. There is always a little "play" in the Oneway chuck's base jaws, and the jumbo jaws amplify that play causing some vibration. There is none of that with the RC414, which runs perfectly smooth and quiet.
Another bonus -- the RC414 is SAFER. The Oneway jumbo jaws are four separate pieces, and there can be quite a gap between them. These gaps can be pretty dangerous when spinning at 800rpm. The RC414 eliminates that danger with the continuous edge and no gaps."
